OpenData Vibe Assessment: Lisa Wang

The NYC Open Data platform has not changed much since 2022. Brainstorm web features that could be built on top of its existing capabilities and datasets using only HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

Focus on features that would make NYC Open Data easier and more useful for everyday New Yorkers, rather than just adding more charts or redesigning the website. Consider ways to help users discover relevant data, understand what is happening in their neighborhood, compare neighborhoods, explore changes over time, or combine multiple datasets around a real-world issue.

For each idea, briefly explain:

  1. What the feature does

  2. Who would use it and why

  3. Which NYC Open Data datasets or APIs it could use

  4. How it could be implemented as a small vibecoded web prototype

Prioritize ideas that are feasible to prototype quickly but still provide clear user value.
