Build an interactive NYC 311 Neighborhood Explorer using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript on top of the NYC Open Data API.
Use the “311 Service Requests from 2020 to Present” dataset (dataset ID: erm2-nwe9). The goal is to make the raw Open Data easier and more interesting for an average New Yorker to explore.
Create a clean single-page web app where users can search for a NYC neighborhood or ZIP code and see recent 311 complaints in that area. Include:
* an interactive map showing where complaints occurred
* filters for date range, complaint/problem type, and agency
* a chart showing the most common complaint types
* a timeline showing how the number of complaints changes over time
* summary cards such as total complaints, most common complaint, and average complaints per day
* the ability to compare two neighborhoods or ZIP codes side by side
* responsive styling so it works well on both desktop and mobile
Fetch the data directly from the NYC Open Data/Socrata API rather than using static sample data. Keep the interface simple and visual, and make the results update automatically when the user changes a filter.
